The level of integration that OnSite’s customers have with other packages is driven purely by functionality requirements. Some of our customers utilize OnSite in a hosted environment and have zero integration. There is a full suite of functionality built into the stand-alone version. Some customers require, even depend, on superior project planning and tracking to create their competitive advantage. For them, we integrate to their project planning system. Of course, other customers integrate to the ERP system, and most customers integrate to the accounting package.
And, for those customers that do integrate to other packages we have some amazing technology. While we utilize commercially available APIs, we have developed a proprietary Remote Monitor system that transmits information and data between OnSite and other packages. We could have used an off the shelf integration package, or a module from another vendor. But, it would have made the OnSite solution more expensive. We wouldn’t have been able to do things like caching queries to provide incredibly fast bulk updates of thousands of distributed table records. We needed that flexibility because our customer with the largest project plans has thirty thousand plus activities. We update the project planning package in seconds, in real time, all day long. By controlling the code, we control both the cost and the speed.
Let’s take a look at some of the packages to which OnSite can integrate.
In the overview, the information and data flows are both uni-directional and bi-directional, and the crucial element for bi-directional data transmission is the ability to stay synchronized in real time – the strength of our Remote Monitor module.
OnSite is prepared to handle whatever level of integration makes sense for your company. Check out the Implementation / Support link to see how we do it, or give us a call and we’ll help figure out the right level of integration for you.
